LOIS Provides Searchable Building Database
The DeSoto Council is now using a web-based searchable database platform for its listing of available buildings and sites in DeSoto County. LocationOne Information System, or LOIS, is also the database used by the Mississippi Development Authority and TVA to list available buildings and sites, so it is a natural partnership.
According to MDA, 95 percent of all site location searches begin on the Internet, so to remain competitive, communities need to have their buildings and sites listed on their web pages. The DeSoto Council has listed these buildings and sites, but using LOIS enables the Council to have them listed immediately on MDA’s site as well. LOIS replaces Fast Facilities as the database on the Council website. LOIS also provides PDF printable flyers, the ability to download data into Excel, HTML reports and GIS mapping and radii reports. LOIS is used by more than 6500 communities in 15 states.
